How I train...

- What happens when the dog gets it right?
Your dog will receive a reward and I will provide that reward based on what the dog finds reinforcing. While training, I will observe to see that your dog enjoys the affection, toys, environment, etc. I need your dog to be an active participant in training and we want them to enjoy it!

What happens when the dog gets it wrong?
It means the humans have screwed up. If the dog gets it wrong, I did not set them up for success. In other words, the dog is never wrong. So if your dog does something other than what I are looking for, we choose from re-directing, ignoring, and re-setting.

Are there any less intrusive ways to get the behavior?
I try to use the least intrusive methods we know. If I learn about something new, I’ll switch!

What tools could be used while training my dog?
Reinforcements (affection), praise, extra fun reward. Extra treats after meal for good behavior.  I use training collars (slip collar) to refocus the dog to the handler.

What tools will not be used while training my dog?
We will never use: punishing training techniques such as popping, yelling, prodding, or pinching, squirt bottles or coin cans.  We will also be aware if your dog finds an intended reward aversion too.
